HAS RINGLESS VOICEMAIL MARKETING RESURFACED?

It seems like just yesterday ringless voicemail marketing was deemed/branded/labeled a dead here strategy. But now, whispers are spreading/circulating/making their way around the industry that it might be reviving/resurfacing/coming back. Is there any truth to these rumors? Is this abandoned/overlooked/neglected tactic really poised for a comeback?
